Sit back and relax during  this short flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. Approximate flight duration is about 45 minutes. Your accommodations will be at the Ol Tukai Lodge (or similar).

Please note, strict luggage restrictions apply to this flight: 1) Maximum weight allowance of 32 lbs (15 kg) is permitted per person. 2) Baggage must be soft-shelled. 3) Additional baggage allowance can be arranged at additional cost, please speak to your Destination Expert for more information.

Flight to Amboseli

The flight from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most scenic short-haul journeys, offering stunning views from start to finish. Departing from Wilson Airport in Nairobi, small safari aircraft head southeast toward the Kenya–Tanzania border. The flight typically lasts 40 to 50 minutes, covering about 160 kilometers (100 miles). Shortly after takeoff, you’ll soar over the patchwork of Nairobi’s outskirts before the landscape opens into vast savannah and acacia-dotted plains.

As the plane descends into Amboseli, the view becomes truly spectacular—Mount Kilimanjaro dominates the horizon, often capped with snow and rising dramatically above the flat terrain. On clear days, passengers may spot elephants, giraffes, and herds of wildebeest from the air as the aircraft approaches one of Amboseli’s airstrips inside or near the park.

Amboseli National Park

Nestled at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park is one of Kenya’s most iconic safari destinations, celebrated for its breathtaking scenery and exceptional wildlife encounters. Vast open plains dotted with acacia trees create the perfect backdrop for herds of elephants, often seen moving gracefully beneath Africa’s highest peak. The park teems with lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo, while shimmering swamps attract an abundance of birds and hippos. Whether capturing the perfect photograph of elephants against Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped summit or enjoying the tranquility of a sunset drive, Amboseli offers a quintessential African safari experience that blends dramatic landscapes with unforgettable wildlife moments.

Morning Tours

Morning game drives in Amboseli National Park unfold in the soft glow of dawn, with mist rising from the plains and Mount Kilimanjaro standing tall in the background. Here’s what you’re likely to encounter:

  • Elephant herds moving gracefully across the open plains, their silhouettes framed by the first light of day.

  • Lions and cheetahs active after a night’s hunt, often seen near waterholes or resting in the early sun.

  • Zebras, buffalo, and wildebeest grazing in the dewy grass, joined by playful gazelles and warthogs.

  • Giraffes feeding on acacia branches while hyenas and jackals roam in search of leftovers.

  • Birdwatching around the swamps — Early hours bring flocks of flamingos, pelicans, and herons, along with hunting fish eagles and kingfishers.

  • Guided nature walk (outside the park) — Explore nearby conservancies on foot with a Maasai guide, learning about animal tracks, plants, and traditional bushcraft.

Days 5 - 7: The Magnificent Masai Mara!

On Day 5 you will take an early morning flight to the amazing Masai Mara National Reserve. Our representative  will pick you up for transfer to the airport. Sit back and relax during  this short flight from Amboseli to Masai Mara. Approximate flight duration is approximately one hour and 50 minutes. Your accommodations will be at the luxury Angama Mara (or similar) lodge.

Flight to Masai Mara

The flight from Amboseli National Park to the Masai Mara is one of the most scenic and memorable journeys in Kenya. Departing from Wilson Airport, the small bush plane soars over Nairobi National Park, where wildlife roams against the city skyline, before gliding westward across the lush Rift Valley highlands. Below, you’ll see patchwork farms, shimmering lakes like Naivasha and Elementeita, and the dramatic escarpments of the Great Rift Valley.

As the landscape flattens, the golden savannah of the Masai Mara stretches endlessly ahead, dotted with acacias and herds of wildlife visible even from the air. The flight lasts about one hour and 45 minutes ending with a gentle landing on a red-earth airstrip surrounded by open  plains — a perfect, thrilling prelude to your safari adventure.

The Masai Mara

The Masai Mara National Reserve, a name synonymous with Africa’s wildlife splendor, stands out as an emblematic safari destination. Encompassing vast rolling plains and acacia-studded savannahs, it offers  a theatrical stage where nature’s most intimate and dramatic scenes  unfold.

The reserve is celebrated for the great beast migration, a monumental movement of over two million animals traversing its  terrain annually, a spectacle that has earned its place as one of the  natural wonders of the world. In addition to the migration, the Masai Mara is an exceptional location  for viewing the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo) and is particularly renowned for its lion populations. The reserve’s landscapes provide a postcard-perfect backdrop against which these majestic animals play out their daily lives, offering unparalleled  photographic opportunities.

Between July and October, more than two million wildebeest and zebra thunder across the Mara River, pursued by stealthy crocodiles and vigilant big cats, in a timeless display of survival and instinct that defines the very essence of Africa.

But the Mara’s magic extends beyond the migration. All year round, visitors  are treated to extraordinary wildlife encounters — from cheetahs sprinting across the plains to leopards draped elegantly over fig tree branches, and rhinos grazing quietly in the thickets. Over 470 bird species, from  lilac-breasted rollers to secretary birds, add flashes of color and  sound to the landscape, making every game drive a feast for the senses.

Safari experiences in the Masai Mara are as diverse as the land itself. Guests can embark on thrilling game drives guided by expert Masai trackers, float silently over the plains in a hot air balloon as the sun rises, or enjoy an intimate bush breakfast overlooking the sweeping savannah. For a deeper connection, walking safaris and cultural visits to local Masai villages offer a glimpse into the traditions of one of Africa’s most iconic  communities, whose deep respect for the land has helped preserve it for  generations.

Morning Tours

Morning game drives in the Masai Mara burst with life as the sun rises over the vast savannah. Here’s what you’re likely to encounter:

  • Lions lounging near riverbanks or open plains after a night of hunting.

  • Cheetahs perched on termite mounds, scanning the grasslands for early prey.

  • Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles grazing across the rolling plains.

  • Majestic elephants and towering Masai giraffes feeding on acacia trees.

  • Buffalo moving in groups through the grass, often shadowed by oxpeckers.

  • The occasional leopard retreating into the thickets after a night’s activity.

  • A dazzling variety of birdlife, from secretary birds striding through the grass to lilac-breasted rollers flashing their colors in the early light.

Here are some of the most popular morning activities in and around the Masai Mara that make the most of the cool air and golden sunrise light:

  • Early morning game drive — The prime activity of the day, offering the best chance to spot  predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards before they retreat from  the heat.

  • Hot air balloon safari — Lift off just before sunrise and glide over the savannah as the first  light touches the plains, revealing herds of elephants, wildebeest, and  giraffes below.

  • Guided bush walk — Explore on foot with a Maasai guide, learning to identify animal  tracks, plants, and birds while experiencing the landscape up close.

  • Birdwatching along the rivers and grasslands — The cooler hours draw out a remarkable variety of species, from  lilac-breasted rollers to crowned cranes and raptors taking flight.

  • Bush breakfast — Enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast set up in the wild, often  following your early game drive, surrounded by the sounds of the waking  savannah.

Afternoon Tours

Afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara offer a slower, more atmospheric experience as the heat softens and the  savannah glows in golden light. Here’s what you’re likely to encounter:

  • Elephants gathering at rivers and waterholes to drink and cool off.

  • Lions resting in the shade, occasionally stirring as the temperature drops toward evening.

  • Cheetahs becoming more active, using the lower sun and tall grass for cover while hunting.

  • Herds of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles moving lazily across the plains.

  • Hippos emerging near the Mara River and crocodiles basking along its banks.

  • Graceful Masai giraffes and topis silhouetted against the setting sun.

  • A sky alive with raptors, rollers, and hornbills catching the day’s final light.

Here are several excellent afternoon activity options in or near the Masai Mara National Reserve that complement a game drive and broaden your safari experience:

  • Hot air balloon safari at sunset — Soar above the plains in the later afternoon for panoramic views of wildlife and river crossings from the sky.

  • Walking safari in a nearby conservancy — After your vehicle drive, take a guided walk to explore the bush on  foot, see tracks, small animals, and learn about the ecosystem.

  • Maasai village cultural visit — Spend the later part of the afternoon visiting a local Maasai  community, learn about their traditions and crafts, and enjoy a  sundowner with views of the plains.

  • Sundowner viewpoint / scenic stop — As the day cools, drive to a high ridge or vantage point for twilight  photographs, drinks, and sweeping views across the Mara.

  • Bird‐watching and wetland viewing — Visit riverine areas or marshes in the afternoon to spot waterbirds, raptors, and wildlife gathering at the water’s edge.

Flight to Seychelles

A flight from the Masai Mara to the Seychelles is a breathtaking journey from Africa’s wild savannahs to its tropical shores. You will depart from the Masai Mara airstrip for a short 45-minute flight to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. This short flight offers stunning aerial views of golden plains, acacia trees, and winding rivers below. After transferring to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you board your international flight to the Seychelles — a direct 3 to 3.5-hour journey across the Indian Ocean.

After a brief transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your international flight to the Seychelles takes off southeast across Kenya’s highlands and the vast expanse of the Indian Ocean. For roughly 3 to 4 hours, you’ll cruise over deep blue waters, the color gradually shifting to lighter shades as you near the archipelago.

As the plane descends toward Mahé Island, the view transforms into a tropical dreamscape — emerald islands, white sandy beaches, and coral-fringed lagoons glowing beneath the sun. The contrast from the Mara’s wild plains to the Seychelles’ crystalline coastlines is nothing short of magical. By evening, you can trade the roar of lions for the rhythm of the waves, stepping from safari adventure into island paradise.

The Seychelles

The Seychelles — a paradise so stunning it feels like a dream. Floating in the warm turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, this archipelago of 115 islands is a masterpiece of natural beauty, where soft white sands meet crystal-clear lagoons and lush tropical forests rise from the sea. Every island offers its own slice of magic: from the granite boulders and world-famous beaches of Mahé and Praslin, to the untouched serenity of La Digue and the private sanctuaries scattered across the outer islands.

Here, time slows down. Spend your days snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs, sailing between islands, or hiking through palm-covered trails that open to breathtaking ocean views. Encounter rare wildlife like the Aldabra giant tortoise, wander through spice gardens, or simply unwind with a cocktail as the sun sets in a blaze of color over the water.

Luxury blends effortlessly with authenticity — elegant resorts, barefoot beaches, and the warm smiles of the Seychellois people create an atmosphere of pure tranquility. Whether you seek romance, relaxation, or adventure, the Seychelles promises an escape unlike any other — a place where nature still reigns and every moment feels timeless.

~Angama Mara~

Angama Mara

Angama Mara is a remarkable lodge set on the edge of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, overlooking the Mara Triangle. There is little that is conventional about the creation of Angama Mara, with views that stretch for miles across the Maasai Mara 300 meters below. Inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’, Angama Mara seems to float way up above the Maasai Mara where, every morning, hot air balloons sail past the 10-metre-wide floor-to-ceiling glass fronts of each tented suite. The lodge consists of two separate and intimate camps each of fifteen tented suites. High above the floor of Great Rift Valley, and balanced on its rim lies a beautiful piece of land that overlooks what many safari travellers deem the loveliest game reserve on the continent, Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
