Start-off by exploring the giraffe center. Home to the highly endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, get to enjoy by observing & handfeeding from a raised wooden structure, which is quite an experience. you may also spot warthogs snuffling about in the mud, and there’s an interesting self-guided forest walk through the adjacent Gogo River Bird Sanctuary. Learn the work done by African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), since 1979 when there were no more than 120 Rothschild’s giraffes in the wild.
At the Giraffe Centre, you'll find yourself immersed in a world where you can come face to face with the elegant and gentle giants of the African plains. Imagine the thrill of standing eye to eye with a majestic giraffe as you feed and even share a kiss with these incredible creatures. It's an encounter that goes beyond the ordinary, allowing you to forge a unique connection with the animal kingdom. As you experience this magical moment, you'll also be contributing to their conservation, making every interaction all the more meaningful.
Our first cultural stop will be the beads women factory. This is a pottery company that makes one of the world's most beautiful hand-made beads. Explore and learn all the stages from the start to the finish. Uniquely this factory employs single mother parents and widowed women from the poor neighborhoods who earn a living to support their families. It's a women empowerment center for the community. After this impactful session we will then proceed for lunch.
After a delicious African meal, we will proceed to the final phase of our tour. Enjoy the rich culture from 53 ethnic communities in Kenya through traditional folklore dances. Understand the culture and traditions through an informative session as we explore & visit the different homesteads to see for yourself the actual real of our people. The center mainly preserves, maintains and promotes the rich diverse cultural values of all ethnic communities. Daily performances include a selection of 15 traditional dances of different ethnic communities & one of the most impressive performances is the Samburu & Masai warriors.
