Nairobi Tour: Historic and Modern Highlights Walking Tour
Exciting and noticeably cosmopolitan, Nairobi is the social hub of East Africa. Our one of a kind Nairobi tours offer the ideal way of getting out and experiencing the sights, smells, and sounds of this vibrant city and its surroundings, uncovering the real character and people of the ever-fascinating Nairobi.
This is more of an experience than just a tour. Enjoy an optional snack(Fruit Salad or/and a little piece of goat meat) and experience local culture by learning some popular Swahili words from your guide. Practice your Swahili as you interact with locals at the various stops including the busy Nairobi City Market. We teach you some tricks to get the best deals for souvenirs and we also show you the cheapest stores.
Mombasa Tour: City Heritage Walking Tour with Tuk Tuk Ride
Mombasa is the country’s oldest and second largest city. The city’s charm can clearly be seen in the old style architecture of its buildings. A real melting pot of languages and cultures from different sides of the Indian Ocean Like an exotic desert waits for travelers the city is waiting to be explored.
Modern Mombasa is a city of great diversity and life. Let loose and immerse yourself in the past and in the everyday life of the local friendly people who just smile at you and make you feel welcome, be prepared for the overcrowded spaces especially in the markets and on streets.
You will be picked from your hotel or accommodation and proceed to Mombasa town.You will be given a brief history of the garden and the Tusks. Thereafter proceed to the Second World War cemetery. The walk will take you to Mama Ngina Drive where you will be shown one of the oldest Baobab Trees and you will be given a brief history why the Baobabs were planted there.
Spend the day getting to know Mombasa. Experience Mombasa's unique combination of historical landmarks, cultural richness, coastal beauty, wildlife encounters, culinary delights, and genuine hospitality. From walking the Old Town Mombasa streets and learning everything from the history of UNESCO World Heritage Site Fort Jesus and the secrets of the Spice traders to meeting the experienced artisans at Akamba Handicraft Market and having a one-of-a-kind wildlife encounter at Haller Park.

Accordingly, all of our "Custom" packages are designed to be used as both standalone or as add on experiences. Depending on your budget and time, you have the option to book just one "Custom" package or several Custom packages to create a longer and more memorable experience!
Upon your arrival to Nairobi an English-speaking Explore-Kenya representative will greet you at customs and immigration. The representative will be holding a clearly marked page board with your name on it as you exit the arrivals hall. This representative will walk you through your welcome package documents and itinerary, and they will answer any questions you may have.
The representative will also facilitate the visa process for you. After completing the visa process, you will continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. Here you will be met by your driver for a private transfer to the smaller Wilson airport where you will take a 60 minute flight to Mombasa. Upon arrival in Mombasa, you will have the option to visit local shops and restaurants, relax at your hotel or - depending on the time - start your tour!
Day 1 - Settle at hotel; meal; 15 minute welcome/meet and greet, remarks and review itinerary; visit local shops/restaurants (optional), relax at your hotel or - depending on the time - start your tour!
Day 2 - Nairobi Historic and Modern Highlights Walking Tour. You will be able to attend both tours on days 2 and 3. It is your decision to decide which tour you do first! See tour details below. At the conclusion of your tour on day 2, you will take a one hour flight to Mombasa for the second portion of the tour.
Day 3 - Mombasa Heritage Walking Tour with Tuk Tuk Ride. You will be able to attend both tours on days 2 and or 3. It is your decision to decide which tour you do first! See tour details below. At the conclusion of your tour on day 3, you will prepare for your return home on day 4 unless you have made prior arrangements with us.
Day 4 - Early a.m. departure. You will have a private transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back to Nairobi. You will then have a private transfer to Jomo International Airport for your trip home! Until next time...
Nairobi Historic and Modern Highlights Walking Tour (6-8 hrs)

Our driver guide will pick you up from your hotel within Nairobi and start the tour with a visit to the National Museum of Kenya Nairobi and the Nairobi Snake Park. The Snake Park is located next to the Nairobi National Museum and is very popular with tourists. On display are cobras, drum snakes, mambas and the large African rock python (non-venomous) found only in Kenya. Various crocodiles, American crocodiles, freshwater turtles and tortoises found in Africa are also exhibited in the park. The main feature of the aquarium is the reef fish from East African lakes and rivers. In addition to its attractions, Snake Park provides a refuge and home for abandoned and unwanted reptiles, including giant tortoises that still live in the park. The specimen was discovered in 1961 on a road in Limuru. Visitors to the Snake Park can enjoy exhibits of reptiles, fish and succulents.

Mombasa Heritage Walking Tour with Tuk Tuk Ride (6-8 hrs)

The tour begins by walking to the fort Jesus through the busy business street of Mombasa. Then tour the Old Mombasa Town.The historical tour summarizes the old town's Swahili cultural life. You can try fresh sea food delicacies, coconut drinks and delicious Swahili dishes. Travellers are also treated to beautiful traditional artisans wares and Swahili cultural attires suited to the warm weather around the island.
Then, we will go to the Riyadh Mosque. It provides an important overview of the historical orientation of Islamic education in East Africa. We will have a break for cold coconut drinks and food at the sea front hotels. Travellers are later guided through the artisan shops for the beautiful Swahili wares and items, with donkey or camel ride to Shella taking place in the afternoon.
