Day 1 - Get In and Get Some Rest!
Upon your arrival at the airport an English-speaking Explore-Kenya representative will greet you at customs and immigration. The representative will be holding a clearly marked page board with your name on it as you exit the arrivals hall. This representative will walk you through your welcome package documents and itinerary, and they will answer any questions you may have.
The representative will also facilitate the visa process for you if you need assistance. After completing the visa process, you will continue to the baggage claim hall and passenger pick up. Here you will be met by our driver for a private transfer to your hotel.
After arriving at your hotel and settling in, there will be a short meet and greet. At that time we will have welcome remarks, review the itinerary, answer any questions and prepare for day two. Upon completion of the orientation, you will have the option to explore the local shops, restaurants and markets (if time permits) with one of our expert tour guides.

Day 2 - Nairobi to Amboseli

Day 3 - Land of Giants
Embark on a quest to spot some of Africa’s last Super Tuskers, along with Grant’s gazelles, zebras, giraffes, elands, and a variety of birdlife with your private guide. Keep an eye out for lions, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard that resides near the stream. Off-road exploration is permitted within the Kimana wildlife reserve, providing moments when the sanctuary feels exclusively yours. Your wildlife expedition will continue as you traverse the renowned Amboseli National Park, just 45 minutes from the lodge.

Day 4 - Call of the Wild
Today, you can enjoy another day of guided game drives in Kimana Sanctuary and Amboseli National Park, or, if you prefer, take part in the additional activities available at Angama Amboseli. Choose between a walking safari led by your guide, visiting the Weaving Studio to witness the Maasai women creating jewelry and homeware from local sisal and raffia, or heading to the lodge’s photographic studio for one-on-one photographic tutorials and editing sessions.
Alternatively, you can relax by the swimming pool or visit the special viewing tower to watch the elephants that often visit the nearby marsh. For an additional charge, you can admire Mount Kilimanjaro from a hot-air balloon or enjoy an in-tent massage. Additionally, for a donation to the Big Life Foundation, you can learn firsthand about the important work of this organization, which manages and protects the sanctuary on behalf of the Maasai families who own it.

Day 5 - Amboseli to Laikipia
A representative from your lodge will pick you up and transfer you between the lodge and airstrip. Sit back and enjoy the views during this private charter flight from Amboseli to Laikipia, Kenya.

Make your way from the airstrip to Solio Lodge. Tucked in the valley between the lofty slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare Mountains, Solio is located on the incredible 45,000-acre Solio Game Reserve. Internationally recognized as one of the most successful private rhino breeding sanctuaries in East Africa, guests of the lodge will head out on game drives in search of this magnificent endangered species.
Once you have settled into your cottage and had a moment to take in the views of your spectacular wild surroundings you will meet your private guide and head out on your first game drive this afternoon. After watching the sunset you will head back to the lodge to freshen up for dinner. Day 6 - Gentle Giants
Enjoy unforgettable morning, afternoon, and evening game drives at the exclusive Solio Game Reserve. As Solio Lodge is the only accommodation in this conservancy, wildlife sightings are both plentiful and exclusive. Black and white rhino sightings in this area are considered some of the best in the world.
Spend time observing these fascinating creatures, and search for lions, leopards, giraffes, elands, and many other species. Day 7 - Close Encounters
Besides mesmerizing 4x4 safaris in Laikipia, Solio Lodge offers a myriad of other included activities. Experience the thrill of horseback riding close to African wildlife in Solio Ranch, where you may encounter zebras, impalas, warthogs, giraffes, and an abundance of birdlife. Riders of all abilities are welcome. For those who wish to stay active while exploring the bush, mountain biking with a guide is another excellent option. There are adult and children bikes available.
Alternatively, enjoy a walk in Solio Ranch to discover local plants and learn more about the behavior of the animals you encounter. You can also visit a nearby family-owned farm, where the lodge's scented products are made, and stop in the town of Nanyuki for a bit of shopping before returning to the lodge. Children can join the guides to learn how to identify different animal tracks, go on nocturnal guided walks in search of insects and chameleons, and even join the lodge’s chefs to learn some culinary skills.

Day 8 - Laikipia to Masai Mara

Day 9 - Big Game Galore

After a short drive from Angama Mara, you will be at the Mara Triangle, home of the Big Five, which can be seen all year round along with giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs, hippos, massive crocodiles, several species of antelopes, and over 470 bird species. Day 10 - The Mane Attraction
Today, you can enjoy another day of guided game drives, or if you prefer, you can relax at Angama Mara and take part in other activities available at the lodge. Enjoy the view from the swimming pool, work out in the fitness room, or experience the unique opportunity of running alongside a Kenyan, known around the world for their long-distance running abilities. Your stay also includes guided walking safaris on the Rift Valley escarpment, where you can discover the natural wonders of the area on foot through forests and open spaces.
You can also explore the lodge’s vegetable garden and pick your own salad ingredients, or relive the Out of Africa love story with a picnic, as Angama Mara was built on the same site where many iconic scenes from the movie were filmed. Day 11 - Masai Mara to Nairobi

Upon arrival, our guide will drive to Giraffe Manor As you arrive through the front entrance of the Giraffe Manor you feel as though you're taking a trip back in time. With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa: indeed, one of its twelve rooms is named after the author, Karen Blixen.
Enjoy afternoon tea on the terrace as the sun sets behind the Ngong Hills, accompanied by a few long-legged friends. Reserved exclusively for in-house guests, an afternoon tea at the manor is a delightful occasion not to be missed. Relaxing in the tranquil setting of the manor gardens with a giraffe or two in view, you will be served with a tasty assortment of homemade cookies, cakes, sandwiches, scones and fruit platters. It is also a great chance to kick your legs into the air on the over-sized garden swing.

Day 12 - Giraffe Manor...Depart!
Waking up to breakfast with a giraffe must be one of the most incredible and unique experiences anyone can have. This activity is reserved exclusively for overnight guests of Giraffe Manor and is one not to be missed. Loping across the manor lawns and peering in through the large windows with their elegant necks, encountering the manor's endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at such close quarters gives a real appreciation of just how beautiful and soulful these creatures are. Watch out for their inquisitive tongues, which can grow up to twenty inches long, as they investigate what’s on offer; luckily, it’s nutritious dried grass pellets that they’re after, not your pancakes! Please note: The giraffe at Giraffe Manor are wild and therefore we cannot guarantee interaction with them at any given time.
After your morning of dining with the giraffes, meet your private guides for a final day of exploring Nairobi. They'll escort you around the city on an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing, before transferring you to the international airport for your flights home.
A truly unique safari experience awaits you at Nairobi National Park. Set close to the city limits, this wildlife reserve offers you an opportunity to get close to African wildlife while enjoying the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline in the distance. With your private guide by your side and traverse the wide-open grass plains of the reserve in search of game sightings. The resident species include giraffe, black rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, and hyena.
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is a world renowned rescue and rehabilitation initiative primarily focused on the well-being of elephants and rhino’s. Since 1977, the Orphan’s Project has assisted in the recovery and reintegration of more than 150 elephants, returning them to the wild herds of Tsavo. Today, stop in for a visit to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, found at the Nairobi Game Park Headquarters. Arriving in the early afternoon, participate in a private tour where you will have the chance to meet elephants as well as other endangered animals like the black rhino, and learn about the center’s programs. This private experience provides a behind the scenes look into the amazing people and animals helped by these programs - something few others get to see.
