Angama Mara is a remarkable lodge set on the edge of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, overlooking the Mara Triangle. There is little that is conventional about the creation of Angama Mara, with views that stretch for miles across the Maasai Mara 300 meters below. Inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid-air’, Angama Mara seems to float way up above the Maasai Mara where, every morning, hot air balloons sail past the 10-metre-wide floor-to-ceiling glass fronts of each tented suite. The lodge consists of two separate and intimate camps each of fifteen tented suites. High above the floor of Great Rift Valley , and balanced on its rim lies a beautiful piece of land that overlooks what many safari travellers deem the loveliest game reserve on the continent, Kenya’s Maasai Mara.
